Ceramics Collection

The notecards in the Ceramics collection feature closeups of gorgeous, colorful pottery from Andalusia and Catalonia.
Sagrada Familia Ceramics
“Sagrada Familia: 2010?”

This is a piece of the ceramics that they’ll eventually use to finish the construction of the Sagrada Familia church in Barcelona. I took a similar picture last year thinking that by this year, they’d be installed already. Nope. Not yet.

Item Number: 7845-C
10 notecards for $12.99
10 postcards for $8.99
Dancing Stars at the Alhambra
“Dancing Stars”

Although depicting living creatures in art is traditionally frowned on by the Islamic religion, the mosaics in the Alhambra in Granada are full of life and movement.

Item Number: 4582-C
10 notecards for $12.99
10 postcards for $8.99
Music Palace
“Music Palace”

Designed by Domènec i Muntaner at the turn of the century, the Catalan Music Palace in Barcelona is a riot of modernist stained glass, mosaics, and statues. This is a closeup of the ticket window.

Item Number: 9971-C
10 notecards for $12.99
10 postcards for $8.99
Park Guell Bench
“Park Guell Bench”

Antoni Gaudí’s bench in the Park Guell overlooking Barcelona is a writhing mass of broken pottery glued together to create beauty.

Item Number: 6243-C
10 notecards for $12.99
10 postcards for $8.99

*********

I’ve been wanting to combine a love of both art and architecture. On our last trip to Barcelona, I took a bunch of pictures that I used as the foundation for a new series of postcards and notecards. There are closeups of beautiful mosaics and pottery, full shots of architectural treasures, and candid photos of traditional cultural events. I hope you’ll enjoy them.

You can begin browsing the catalog with the ceramics postcards.

Or you can click on one of the images below to go directly to that set of postcards.
